啓蟄 Keichitsu
Can't believe we're already in March.
Lately, we almost always have one slice of blue sky per day. Mhmm, I've been keeping track. The longer days feel like such a relief. This evening after dinner, J remarks that he's been seeing more bugs in the house lately and promptly I announced - we're officially in Keichitsu! The microseason when insects awaken!
I have been quite the homebody this winter. It's cosy in the house, and I can see the beauty of the landscape from the big windows we have here so I have hardly felt the longing to go out. I'm actually ... avoiding the cold.
I started a movement practice in the beginning of winter although that has started to fade away... I've not been moving so much except for indoor bouldering — that has been quite the gift these last few past. J and I have been devotional and quite obsessed. More him than me, but we're happy to have something to do together that involves play and challenge and cheering each other on. Last weekend, we decided on a whim to head to this outdoor boulder we know exist a 15-minute drive from where we are. We found it on this website. The boulder is not too far from the town we frequent just that we've never taken that road before and never been on that side of the lake. This is our first outdoor boulder and we were both super excited after watching countless videos of people climbing outdoors, and also very thrilled to be able to try something new, take what we've been practicing and learning these past months outdoors.
That day was sunny and cool, quiet by the lake except for the occasional car cruising by. We had fun being outside on a beautiful day like that, simply hanging out, touching rock.
